Three weeks on the hard in August.
We started with a trip by buss to Helsingborg and Björn’s mother. Partly for a visit, but mostly to bring our car to Gothenburg. Makes life so much easier when getting things to the boat doing maintenance.
Back in Moon it was full speed with our planned work.
The weather did not really cooperate the first week. Lots of wind made outdoor work difficult.
Second week the weather improved and the bottom got a full treatment including sanding before new antifouling.
We managed to get everything done except a planned rubbing of the white hull sides.
Had to machine special washers to get the bushings out and in, it was more than perfect to do the work in Gothenburg area instead of as original planned in Portugal.
All sails were brought to our sail maker in town to be checked and if needed repaired.
We were very happy to be ready to launch Friday 30 September.
31 August Saturday Öckerö – Andalen 1,9 nm
After splashing and a busy Friday at the yard’s pontoon we slept well and Saturday noon we motored the short trip to friends close by. Moored on their jetty and had a lowly evening with lots of nice food and chairing many fun memories from sailing in Pacific.
Just before dark we took Moon “around the corner” and anchored protected from the coming south west strong wind.
1 September Sunday Andalen – Hinsholmen 5 nm
The sun was behind thick clouds when we woke up. Had breakfast and then weigh anchor before the wind picked up even more and changed direction to more westerly.
We managed to moor in Hinsholmen well before the rain and new strong wind started.
Now we will have a few days to get things organized. The sails have to come back from the sail maker and so on.
